up and down, ouch, and singing it out loud

1 Our day is filled with mishaps. Chris needs medical attention and after we leave the hospital I misstep off of the sidewalk and land right side down on the pavement. No hospital visit for me thank you.
2 The hot tub soothes the aches and pains and the full moon soothes the soul.
3 Mr P is on his way home tomorrow. I'd do the happy day if I wasn't so beat up, so instead I'll just sign the happy song.

taking it slowly, helpful, and get yer butt home

1 Do you like mornings when you have the time to just putter about, gather your things and slowly make your way to work? Me too.
2 She helped me with ideas for the problem and then later she forwarded a message to me along with emailing kudos to our staff and supervisor for a job well done. I couldn't have done it without her, or without the help of the whole team. Feeling grateful.
3 Mr P is home on Sunday. He's already packed and that's no surprise to either of us. Hurry home hon!

wake up, waterfront, and cooled down

1 It sounds like there are a million crows outside of my bedroom window! I'm guessing that's why they call it "a murder of crows!" No alarm clock needed.
2 It's time and so I head to the waterfront to get a good run in before work. I run into a couple of neighbours so it's not the intense workout that I was hoping for BUT, it was very social and that was just as good.

3 The house was very stuffy when I got home. No windows can be left open now and the ac will be just too costly to run while I'm gone for so long but it cools off within about 20 minutes and soon I'm cooled and kicking back enjoying a cold one. That was nice.

see you soon, brother, take the long way home, and rock slide

1 We say our goodbyes and I have to leave quickly before she sees the tears in my eyes. It's been great but too short. Thankfully we'll see them again in a few days when they come out our way to spend time with their granddaughters.
2 My brother is doing well. I'm always happy when I can say those words. He's challenged with mental illness and it's difficult for him in many ways, but he's managing himself well, cooking and looking after things around his home and we have a great visit.
3 Home, the long way round. We drove home  past the ski hill to the main highway then when we come to the fork in the road we go the long way through wine country and past fruit stands. The sun is setting and the clouds are in the strangest patterns with shades of gray mixed with bright pink.
3a When we're almost home the four lane highway is reduced to a single lane and we see the result of a rock slide. Hopefully the highways department will make sure it's all stable before it's reopened again. I used to drive that road to work and now I'm grateful that I go in the other direction!

everything goes with bacon, in our hearts, tea time, and Sage

1 After a good night's sleep our hosts treat us to a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs! Love crispy bacon...mmmm
2 We take a drive around town and reminisce about how lucky we were to have time living there. Our old house is missing siding and seems so unloved and our rental too is the same state but we loved seeing it anyways. Lots of changes to the town but it still has a feeling of sameness and we both realize it will always be another 'home' for us.
3 Gaile and I wander downtown and enjoy a lovely lunch and chat at Sanderella's Tea House. Just like old times, we share a salad, then we wander to a couple of shops looking for dresses and L brackets! Not in the same store!
4 It's always good to break bread with friends. We enjoy delicious tapas and wine at a local eatery called Sage. The deck is lovely and we enjoy toasts, food, and just being together.

special visit, who is buying, and follow the bottleneck road

1 What to do on a sunny Saturday? Go visiting of course. Our visit was at the home of a lovely Iranian woman and her youngest son. They have an amazing home with views up and down the lake. We sipped ice water with lemon, snacked on watermelon and chatted about their travels to the middle east, life in Canada and ended up in some amazing vegetable and flower gardens. Isn't it true, gardens are where the best conversations always take place.
2 I take him out for coffee and a snack before we head home from our errands Penticton. He jokes about how I've been paying for all of our meals lately. He gets to figure out our anniversary dinner...but will he?
3 We take a side road home and follow a road with signs that say Bottleneck Drive. Along the way are many many fields of vineyards and huge homes and estates that are wineries.

work work work, love where you live, book club news

1 Switchboard was great today. Lots of hands on training and even a code to call. I didn't call it because there was a mix up on rooms/location but I'm sure I'll be thrown into it full on today! My trainer said she's bringing a book to read...ha ha Oh I hope not!
2 Erin's home is up on the hill near the winery. It's got a stunning view of a couple of bays and Rattlesnake Island. Their backyard is serene and green with large sized tables and spaces and pergolas, ivy plants climbing posts and huge hanging baskets! And inside her home it's just as spacious and decorated with such love and care that I leave inspired to create that sort of atmosphere in our home.
3 Book club as always is entertaining and lively. Our group has chose a genre for the coming year and chose Short lists. As long as the book makes the top five in any award list it's fair game for choosing for the group to read. I'm hosting in November. Any good book suggestions are most welcome! I must read it first so I guess considering my track record for reading lately, I'd better get on it.

work, driving mrs p, and a little damp

1 Work took the forefront this week. Tuesday was the first afternoon shift and it was not exactly what I was expecting. The entire shift with a lull of five minutes or so here and there was registering emergency patients and dealing with admissions, transfers and discharges. My trainer had an usual way of training and while it works for her, I think I'll stick to doing one task at a time and staying mindful in the chaos.
2 The drive home was long but quiet. The moon shone brightly on the road making it a much easier drive. That being said, getting home at midnight means it was a long day/night.
3 I was so thirsty that I rushed the cup to my lips and so tired that I missed. I had to laugh at the sight I must have presented with a wet shirt and face!
