1 Miss Tula is exhausted after catching some mice. She's growing side to side these days and now we know why. Mr P even takes a video of her playing with it. Poor thing.
2 She really wants to be outside at night but with the coyotes and other creatures out there it is not a good idea at all. 
3 Mr P and I share good the concept of affirmations. We try to have a short chat but it morphs a bit longer and we just go with it.
4 My hands are hurting and I'm going back to using some pain relief for them. I know the specific feeling that tells me that the bumps are growing. 
5 The rain smells like rain. Fresh, clean and refreshing.
6 Sitting side by side, just doing our own thing.

wake up, rain and, cat love

1 Isn't it a great feeling to wake in the morning and realize you've had just the best sleep?
2 The rain comes in waves and the trees sway in the wind. The birds are quiet today, most likely they've found a spot that's dry and warm.
3 Tula isn't fond of the rain. She ventures out a few times but keeps coming in to check on me. Eventually she gives up and snuggles in on her green blanket with her paw on top of my hand.

1. The Coolest Thing About Gratitude
2 Working a half day and being done for a week! I purposely took off a full week to spend relaxing and having fun with family and friends. Casual employees get perks too!
3 I dropped off cards and gifts on Friday for my coworkers. How great to see them before the holidays and to get and give a hug or two.
4 Sam gave me a gorgeous hand crafted bracelet and earring set. So gorgeous I slept with it on! (ok just when napping but wow!) Thank you so much
5 The massage therapist did her magic on my back and neck. I was so congested it was a challenge to lie face down. She worked on my lymphatic system. Still stiff but better.
6 The rain and wind reminded me of living on the island. It seemed to come in gusts and every now and then I'd wake up from the loudness of the wind chimes, but it would lull me back to sleep as well.

dry, Chris, and night

1 I had a walk at the lakefront before the clouds shrouded the sun and sent buckets of rain down.
2 Chris visited for a bit today. He's lost weight and is looking great. So nice to just see his face and give him a hug or two or more!
3 It's cold and damp out now but the fireplace is on and I've got a glass of red wine, my feet are up and the day is done.

1 I'm so thankful to my dear friend G, who is always, always there for me. Today she takes extra time to listen to me while she's making dinner.
2 All of a sudden I hear a loud noise outside. It's unfamiliar and hasn't been heard for ages. It's a downpour that's got the full force of Mother Nature behind it.
3 I think this It Works, Skinny Wrap is actually working! Yes, two inches gone and a flat tummy. Hmm, I'm definitely trying this on another problem area. I'm documenting it all.

ouch, quiet, and we talk ourselves to sleep

1 "I'll get by with a little help from my friends!" Great song and totally appropriate for today when with this wicked migraine. What helps when you're hurting? Supportive friends, quiet, darkness and crackers!
2 The quiet in the house was so welcome after a noisy day. I sat on the deck and just listened to the wind, the crickets, and later the rain falling on the deck.
3 Mr P and I talk a bit and soon the both of us are yawning and he tells me he's already in bed ready to sleep. After we hang up it's not too long before I'm there myself. The stormy weather cools the house making sleep much easier, not that I needed any help.

hiking, eat your fruits and vegetables, and let's make a run for it

1 Crawford Falls was the hike we chose today. It was hot and dry with little sprinkles of rain. As the raindrops hit the dusty path they made little footprints and evaporated almost instantly. We never went down to the falls, it was too steep and slippery (you had to use a rope railing!), so we went to the creek instead. I wondered if the little creek had many fish in it. There was no sign of wildlife except for a few birds and one deer.
2 The market we find has great local produce and good pricing. We pick up beets, carrots, green bean, corn on the cob, cherries, nectarines, olive bread and kamut bread and as a treat some samosas. It's not near our home but we will definitely go back to this market when we're in that area.
3 I love the smell of rain when it's been so hot and dry. It's different from the island where it's muggy and humid; this is crisp and fresh. When we went into the store it was blue skies; when we were ready to come it was like a hurricane with rain and strong winds. What to do? Make a run for it, of course! We made a run for it, and were soaked to the bone within the first five steps. It's funny how when you're laughing you can't run fast, the key fob's don't work, the door gets stuck and the cart wants to roll away!  Now, that was fun.

train me, stormy weather, my chef, and drink of the gods

1 It's a work day. I feel so lucky to be able to say that! Gotta love your work and today it was switchboard training, just what I love.
2 There's a storm out there. My drive home is along the lake shore and this means that the weather systems are often different every few kilometers. The storm comes up the middle of the lake but is sporadic. Parts rain, some is just cloud and the best part was where the clouds were so dark and the lightning came screaming straight down on either side of the road.
3 Mr P makes a yummy dinner of BBQ hamburgers and stuffed potatoes. It's much to much food for me so I've packed the other half of my burger for tomorrow's lunch.
4 I find some sugared lavender and will make Lavender Lemonade tomorrow for Book club. It smells divine.

secondly, scanned, and dry

1 A second afternoon shift and things are definitely quieter at work. I get the chance to read procedure manuals, take notes and breathe! I think I can do this job after all.
2 A letter arrives from the Department of Justice that tells me I have to get fingerprinted to complete my criminal record check for work. I work with the 'Vulnerable Sector' so it's important to get it done. It's unnerving but needs doing. Cell Block C is scary and suffocating and a real jail. Ugh, it was awful. I'm glad it's done and the results will be on file so I don't have to repeat it.
3 The drive home tonight is in the rain. Big sheets of rain that almost look like snow or hail. The closer to home I get the drier it gets and by the time I'm about 10  minutes from home the roads are dry, the moon is high and the clouds are gone.

Monday monday, make a reservation please, and get your own space please

1 Mondays often have 'that' vibe to them, don't they? It's these comments that make me smile and wonder; it's too much or too little coffee, too early or too late for work, and last but not least;  the where in the heck did the weekend go!
2 The tea and coffee are hot but the air is cool and breezy. Once again spring showers, hail and wind are predicted and appear. After work I'm happy to sit on the deck in the sun even though it's still cool. Rain or shine that deck is reserved for us.
3 Mr P worked hard on the ensuite today. He put on the final coat of paint and just has the ceiling to touch up and baseboards.  I'm happy he's putting it together now. He says it's all for me but I suspect he just wants a bathroom to himself too.

in their garden, performing, and light showers

1 Our daughter in laws parents, Yosh and Cres, have been visiting them for the past week. Not only have they spent time with the grandkidlets but they have worked with them to get a lot of the backyard cleaned up. The big trees that we pruned with chains saws have been cleaned up even more and it's looking great, the weeds are out, seeded soil down, trenches dug around trees and two rather large cedars are waiting to be planted where a couple are missing. The raspberry patch is growing and the rhubarb is almost ready for eating. Oh there's a strawberry patch too!
2 While Kes is sleeping Isabelle wants to play. So it's Circus Circus time in the back  yard. I announce her, "And now Circus Circus presents the amazing Isabelle!" She beams from ear to ear and proceeds to go down her slide jump over a few big poles and do circles around the yard. Mr P looks at me and says, "Wow, you sure know how to get her to burn off energy!"
3 The forecast was for rain and thunderstorms but we only get the wind and rain. The plants are happy enough to have their petals and leaves sprinkled.
