dry, Chris, and night

1 I had a walk at the lakefront before the clouds shrouded the sun and sent buckets of rain down.
2 Chris visited for a bit today. He's lost weight and is looking great. So nice to just see his face and give him a hug or two or more!
3 It's cold and damp out now but the fireplace is on and I've got a glass of red wine, my feet are up and the day is done.

hot as hades, book club, and food club

1 Baby it's hot out there. Wowsers! 34C in the shade and overcast. The clouds have rolled in and the heat is trapped underneath.
2 Book club read " 100 foot journey" by Steven Knight. I wasn't impressed with the book although it has possibilities to be much more interesting. The characters were flat and each vignette in the story line was lacking in detail and I quickly lost interest. From another perspective, others like it based on the fact that it wasn't really about people but about food and the drive to create and sustain a restaurant.
3 Vegetable pakoras, fish stew, cold avocado soup, olive tampenade and crackers, creme brule and lemon cake were on the menu for the evening. Oh, and wine, there's always a few bottles of wine to enhance our discussions.

wine, blossoms, wine and taken care of!

1 The winery tour is called Fab Five. It's a group of five wineries that are located in a loop so we start at one end and make our way through the list tasting wines that are paired with restaurants who are also sharing samples of their foods. Talk about deliciousness!
1a The wineries are side by side with the orchards. The smell was heavenly.

2 What did I learn today? Well, I learned that you don't have to drink all the wine at all the wineries and you definitely you don't have to drink your husbands too!
3 I also learned that when I have a hangover, (yes that happened) it's great if your guy makes dinner and tea. Thank you Mr P
