the traveler, working from home, and wake up call

1 Mr P has gone to camp again. This time he's on a shorter rotation so he's home every 2 weeks instead of 3! He's halfway across the country but I still feel him right here with me. Best loves are like that, aren't they?!
2 Having a great morning signing up new loyal customers and distributors. Gotta love making new friends, helping people get products that work and building our retirement fund!
3 The birds had a big party this morning. I heard ospreys, blue jays and chickadees. Love their party sounds even at the crack of dawn.

wake up, rain and, cat love

1 Isn't it a great feeling to wake in the morning and realize you've had just the best sleep?
2 The rain comes in waves and the trees sway in the wind. The birds are quiet today, most likely they've found a spot that's dry and warm.
3 Tula isn't fond of the rain. She ventures out a few times but keeps coming in to check on me. Eventually she gives up and snuggles in on her green blanket with her paw on top of my hand. 

Canada Day Weekend

1 Sunday we head to our friends place for a few days of camping out. They live on 1600 acres that is a Nature Trust so it's teaming with birds, fish, wildlife.
2 Canada Day Fireworks, a little bit early but hey, why not?! One goes sideways and I ended up off of Mr P's lap and on the ground!!
3 Time to spend with friends and new friends. We enjoy a pot luck and exchange stories and information. My friend Jan's brother and dad are there as well and we do a lot of catching up! We haven't seen each other since we all graduated from high school!

4 Our time at the beach is supposed to be dedicated to relaxing and reading but we end up visiting instead.
5 Mr P manages to get out three times to the trails for motorbike rides. Each time he comes back he's grinning from ear to ear and has incredibly detailed maps of where he's been. It's perfect riding country.
6 An evening boat ride in a small boat with only a battery operated rudder. It's practically silent and we get to see herons, osprey, eagles and turtles.
7 I have a chance in the morning to be at the lake on my own. If you don't already know, I'm in love with dragonflies so today I'm treated to their presence. They are along the edge of the lake and flutter about eating bugs and chasing each other.
8 We somehow managed to eat an entire watermelon in two days!
9 Baby's it's hot out there and hot in here! 31C and 34C predicted for tomorrow. We have already agreed we'll turn on the a/c tomorrow! yay!

quiet, making it work, and finished

1 It's nice to have a quiet morning after such an emotional day yesterday. The birds serenade until the rain comes then it's just the little ones that brave the wet.
2 I like how we work together, side by side, each doing their own part to make it work. Today it was putting the coat rack together and  up on the wall and we also planted three lilacs in the front bed. <Mr P did the heavy digging and I did the rock picking> These plants should be much happier in their temporary homes.
3 I love the coat rack....perhaps tomorrow we'll make the shoe shelf underneath.

blue, better with two, and back off birdies!

1 I'm often told and with good reason that my choice of clothing is neutral. I step out of my comfort zone and wear pale blue slacks and a blue shirt to work...I have back up clothes in the car just in case I get dirty!
2 This afternoon shift is the last of my switchboard training days. I've been doing the majority of the calls on my own but have yet to call a code and do all the back up calls etc that are needed. It would be great to have this done with a trainer first!
3 Stellar jays have found the birdseed! They're rather big, loud, and especially noisy. They chase each other from the feeder, to the water to the roof of the house. Eventually they move on and the little finches and other birds are able to feed in peace.

potted, happy wedding day, busy girl, and in her room

1 A morning of running around getting supplies but an early afternoon putting it all together. I love making hanging and potted baskets with annuals. Every year I say I'm not going to do it because it's too expensive but every year I see their little happy flower heads and give in!
2 Finding out that a lovely friend (who lives on the island) has just married. Wishing them every joy in their new life together!
3 Isabelle and Grampa hang out riding the motorcycle and then rebuilding and painting the free standing birdhouse. She has been wanting to paint with us ever since we have moved here so it's great to see this dream of hers come true. Then it was my turn and we do magic on her hands with soap and water. She liked seeing the paint, "disappear!"
3a After dinner she plays in "her room" and snuggles up with 10 pillows and 3 stuffies!

two, sing to me, and green

1 Well now, those were two jam packed days filled with work, driving, and adjusting to 5 am wake up times! I have no complaints about any of it but am glad to have a bit of downtime.
2 the seed birds have arrived and arrived in big numbers. They start their symphony pretty early and go til dusk. Sadly the hummingbirds are not around as much and we clean, bleach and refill the feeders but so far just one or two. Perhaps we were just a pit stop for them on their way farther north?
3 Their backyard is looking so green and lush. It's great when progress happens so quickly. Somehow it's just that much more motivating to do more.
