no answer, tolerant and inspirational

1. We see houses that are monstrous in size but elegant and with ocean views that are killer. Still I have to ask myself would I trade land for view. I like that I don't have to know the answer.

2, Kosha lets herself be chased and despite her lack of patience doesn't scratch, swat, or freak out.

3. My cooking lesson inspires me to be more adventuresome in the kitchen.

a co-worker, song and happy 'our' day

1. I have a chance to talk to one of the ladies I work with today. The conversation goes sideways until I realize she needs to let off some steam, so I let her. At the end of the day when I say see you tomorrow she says, "You betcha". I think she feels much better now.


2. The Beatles song The Long and Winding Road is in my head tonight. Not repetitively just a nice gentle song.


3. It's our 8th anniversary today. We aren't together in body but in spirit we are connected. I call him in the morning before he has to work to tell him how much I love him and how lucky I am to have him as 'my guy'.

bra, job and calm

1. My bra was scratching my back all day long! Ah, it's off, I'm sitting in my big lazy boy rocking chair with the heat on my back. Heavenly!
2. I had to have a talk with my boss today and tell her I've gotten another job. She wants me to stay on regardless and I am happy for that. I like that job a lot.
3. I feel calm in this moment...just for now, I feel okay.

hungry, drink up and invigorating

1. I wake in the morning to the sound of a little person's voice. She is a hungry little girl and demands breakfast...well a bottle of milk will do.

2. The plants are dry as a bone but soon the leaves have a lushness to them again as they drink their fill of water.

3. Our yoga teacher spent much time today on invigorating exercises. Ab and leg work. After we finish our last chant she says, 'I suspect we didn't rest and meditate enough this morning; our sound is very off. But if you want energy, well, today's the day you got it at class'.

white, sandwich and dinner

1. She is so sweet looking in the white outfit. Even her leggings are thin white with hearts and flowers on them.

2. The sandwich is exactly what I wanted. Toasted thick bread with lots of mayo, hearty tomato slices with a little salt and pepper.

3. Fish and chips for dinner. Ranch style coating on the fish and thick rich ketchup on the chips.. yummmmm

1. We drove around a lot today, just looking at neighbourhoods and houses and houses for sale. Some with ocean views were spectacular!
2. She is playing in her crib, softly nuzzling her lips to her blanket.
3. The cinnamon buns were sickly sweet and divine.

new job, lucky and power

1. The job interview went well. It was very informal and it felt like we were two friends who hadn't seen each other in a while and had a lot of catching up to do. What a great way to get a job! Yay! Casual work for a great union, BCGEU (BC Government Employees Union). I start Thursday!
2. Sometimes you find a friend who will never let you down, who will always be there no matter what. I'm lucky, I've found her.
3. The power is in the breath and being able to use it to create the space where it is peaceful.

1. I really appreciate the tired feeling sometimes. It's the feeling of having accomplished a lot  and relishing the rest that is coming.
2. Her mom and dad have taught her sign language and she points to the palm of her hand indicating she wants a cookie (aka food) Tonight she gets a bowl of cheerios for a bedtime snack.

Where have I been?
Sorry bout that but things are a little crazy here atm so I've not posted in a few days. Here's my catch up.

1. The sun dapples through the branches forcing my eyes to dart from place to place.
2. Green is one of my favourite colours. Shades from an almost black to palest green that's almost white.
3.  600 count sheets feel like silk without the feeling of sliding out of bed onto the floor.
4. When he calls he is so tired, yet he manages to ask all the right questions.
5. He says the new campsite it beautiful and he loves it. He wants me to come up for a holiday. I am thinking, yes!
6. My son can be the kindest of men. With a gentle smile on his face, hee peeks his head in to say goodnight. I remember doing the same for him when he was a young lad.
7. Tonight's dinner of butter chicken has the right amounts of spices to make my tongue warm up but not catch fire.
8. She says she will talk with me at 2pm. It's been a long time since we've spoken but she knows me well and I trust that the conversation will help me find the tools I need to turn things around.
9. I've always been the strong one, the one who takes care of others but now I am being taken care of. I let them and am thankful.
10. The red truck drives well. I like being up high and feeling like I own the road, just a little bit.
11. The radishes are crisp and just perfect for salad. I have to be quick to pick them before the slugs and bugs eat them first.
12. In the closet I see my red shoes. I've not worn them for ages but I see they are in a new spot. Ah, Isabelle was playing dress up. She loves shoes and red it her favourite colour.
13. Today I am off early. It's a good thing because the sun is shining, the breeze is warm and I think I'd like to spend some time knitting or reading or maybe going for a walk.
14. I am hungry!
15. I feel pleasure in getting caught up! I've missed writing here. This felt very good.

lucky, an art and stuffing their beaks

1. We all have something that we find difficult to deal with. I have mine just like everyone else,  but I'm lucky because I have supportive family and friends who love me and help me even when I am over reacting and for that I give many thanks.
2. There is an art to knitting. There are some extremely talented knitters out there. I'm not one of them yet, but I'm hopeful and thinking 'socks'.
3. Two robins are enjoying the longer grass under the fruit trees. I'll be mowing soon and they'll lose that lush insect world so for now they can gorge on whatever is living there.

1. Opening my email I'm surprised to see, finally, an email from a union that wants to interview me. Finally!
2. My current boss piles lots of work onto my desk. She says she needs me to help her take the edge off of her workload. It doesn't come with much pay but I like that there are lots of bits and pieces to learn.
3. He has his hands full but still managed to ask about me and say a few supportive words. I hope he felt the same.

1. We spent early morning together before he left again. The goodbye was bittersweet.


2. The wind comes in gusts, pushing the limbs on the trees and making the leaves dance wildly.


3. Nail polish on toes looks lovely on so many women. On me, my toes look like fat sausages so I'll stick to the natural look. I prefer it.

ice cream, the bottom part and dining

1. Yesterday was the first time she had had some ice cream in a bowl at our house.. She tried the spoon but discovered if she put her little pointer finger into it she would get a taste. Eventually, her dad gave her some on a spoon but I think she preferred her finger to lick.


2. I like people watching. Today their shoes and feet caught my eye. Sandals with shiny bits, flip flops, orthortic type shoes, runners with a wavy bottom in a bright yellow colour, untended feet, posh feet and toes, the brightest colour of plum on toenails and gum boots.


3. We eat lunch at a Japanese restaurant late in the afternoon. Sunumono soup, miso soup, dynamite roll and unagi roll. As a nice surprise the chef sends over a special treat, vegetable croquettes. I think they were squash, yam and cooked tempura style. Yummy!

hair, smiles and addiction

1. She found a salon that are experts in cutting asian hair types. The style and colour are perfect for her. She says she has found 'her salon'. Perfect!


2. Her smiles for Grandpa melted my heart. When he smiles at her, she shly smiles back. Later she watches him from the window, tapping and waving until he waves and smiles back then her smile gets even bigger and brighter.


3. I'll admit it. I'm an addict. For scarves that is. This latest one is a pretty orange with green, yellow and red bits in it.

extra snuggles, the plant and smelling

1. I put her in her crib and she snuggled down into the blankets, then realized I wasn't there then started to cry. Really cry, the big tears kind. I put her blanket on my shoulder, picked her up and held her close soothing her. She doesn't being alone at all, so extra snuggles are in order.Two rounds of BaaBaaBlack Sheep and she was asleep. I held her for a long while before placing her in her crib.

2.  I've never had a rosemary plant that survived the winter, so zipping outside to snip some fresh sprigs for the roast lamb is exciting.The aroma melds with the cooking lamb filling the house with a richness that makes my mouth water. The lamb roast will be perfect for us tonight.

3. She has mastered the art of smelling flowers. Today the flowers (snow in summer I think it's called) and she had it up to her little nose sniffing it. Loudly but distinctly.

peace, answers and tea

1. Peace is not just the mere absence of violence or disturbance. It's when there is a possibility of conflict, but you deliberately avoid violence and adopt methods to solve the problem through peaceful means. That is real peace.   Dalai Lama

2. We spend the day trying to get some answers for the mysterious cough and lung irritation. Finally we see a doctor who really listens and when he spoke, he spoke with authority and in layman terms. We understand now. It is not an infection, it is an irritation. Nothing to do for it now, he can be proactive and preventative in the future.

3. The honey ginger tea crystals are sweet and stingy at the same time. One cup makes me sleepy and my eyes want to shut, sending me for a quick nap.

a game with grandpa, healing and a good time

1. Isabelle likes to tease Grandpa. She runs up close stops, laughs then quickly turns around and runs away, only to return seconds later to do it all again.


2. He's coughing but much less frequently. The camp where he is working spews sulphur dioxide into the air and he is very susceptible to odours and solvents. He needs more fresh air and water to clean out his system. Soon he will be back to normal.


3. it's time for hockey playoffs and that's big in BC right now with the Vancouver Canucks in the final for the Stanley Cup. To that end, there are few people on the highway and the shops have more employees than buyers. It was an excellent time for shopping.

he's home, the tacoma and walking

1. He's home with me. I got home from work to see him in the kitchen, waiting with open arms and a smile.

2. The red truck will be mine to drive soon. I'm excited to have an alternate vehicle to use especially when I want to go to the dump or move big things.

3. I walk on my lunch hour when I am at work. It's a few blocks to the beach then I walk the boardwalk along the water and do a loop back to the office. When I step outside ready to walk I smell the sea and smile. Lunch hour...yes.

1. She had a fun time with her mommy and daddy yesterday. They took her to the beach and found another field of flowers. She is indeed a flower girl.

3. I'm thinking of tomorrow when he arrives home after 3 weeks away and I am at work! Drat. He can rest up from driving all night and when I get home from work....

G Chat, morning and rhodos

1. My friend T and I were talking on GTalk about people being in relationships where the woman is spoiled and he laughingly posts, "you dont need spoiling yer already rotten to the core" 


2. The wind is rustling the leaves on the arbutus trees outside my window this morning. Sunshine peeks through and invites me to share some time outside.


3. I've never had the chance to grow such a lush assortment of plants as I can here on the island. The red rhododendron is spectacular and fills me with pride even though I haven't had anything to do with its growth or beauty.

productivity, grass and 3

1. The morning was productive. I got so many things done and finished. Tomorrow more of the same followed by some reading and relaxing in the sunshine. 


2. The young guy that C & M hired to do their yard work worked hard at mowing some pretty tall grass.. He was a little inexperienced but had the right attitude. I think the lawnmower blades will need sharpening from the hidden rocks he found. All safe, no injuries or broken windows.


3. Three more sleeps until he's home. I'm so looking forward to spending time with my guy, celebrating his birthday and having a BBQ and picnic outside.

on her own, flower girl and memories

1. Today our little grandbaby girl practiced eating yogurt (mini go) with a spoon all on her own. Her eyes were lit up with the pleasure of success.


2. And our girl spent some time playing in a playground where the lawns needing mowing but because they weren't mowed she had a sea of English daisies to play in. No time for lunch today!


3. The playground was full of good memories. It was the place where I took my two  boys years ago when we lived on this street. The swing set was there and I went back in time to when they were wee lads and life was about getting pushed on the swing and throwing stones.

sleep, for me and dreamer

1. I slept well last night. When I got up I felt refreshed and I haven't felt that in a long time.


2. The sandwich was yummy, mostly because it was made for me. Thank you. (whole wheat bread with mayo, tomato and melted cheese)


3. She slept in my arms for ages today. She didn't want to be put in her crib but snuggled with me and dreams her baby dreams.

dry, hummers and supportive people

1. The hot tub was a balmy 103 this afternoon. It rained but not on my head. I'm using a modified umbrella to keep my head dry. I much prefer a dry head when hot tubbing. 


2. The humming birds are flying every which way. They think the roses should be open already and keep going to them. I think their feeder should be closer to the arbour so they might 'accidentally' find more food.


3. Many thanks for the conversation and support. Some things are just harder than others for me to deal with.
